Therapy Repairs Damaged Relationships

One of the known harms from addictive behaviours is the damage caused to close relationships.

Whilst this is sometimes relationships with parents, siblings, work-colleagues or friends, it is often our relationship with our spouse or romantic partner.

Therapy can give people the tools and confidence to start those difficult conversations to begin the repair of all relationships.  Debt, secrecy and lies can all lead to a sense of betrayal and confusion for the other person.  Therapy can support you to take the lead in supporting the other person’s willingness to risk trusting again.

Where sex addiction or pornography are involved, there can understandably be a particularly strong sense of betrayal.  Therapy can guide you in how to re-establish a loving, caring, sexual relationship that is mutually trusting and nourishing for both of you.
