Online Therapy
Comfortable, Convenient and Secure

While many people still choose face-to-face therapy sessions, meeting on-line through a secure video platform is an increasingly popular way to access therapy.

Some people just prefer their therapy experience on-line and it is their first choice.

However, for others who might actually prefer face-to-face sessions, on-line therapy can enable them to access therapy that they would otherwise be excluded from.

Living in rural locations with minimal public transport; having difficulties with mobility or health issues;  fitting sessions around work or caring responsibilities are all common reasons why people choose online sessions rather than face-to-face.

How do online sessions work?

Modern video platforms are easy to use, reliable and secure.  You do not need to download any special software or be experienced in making video calls.

I send you the information you need by email and you simply click on the link provided to open the screen that we will ‘meet’ on.   I will always be available by phone to talk you through things just in case there are any difficulties.

Some of my clients like to meet me face-to-face for one or two sessions to get to know me before they move online.  Others choose video sessions for those times when travelling is difficult, time is tight or they feel unwell with a cold.

I find that people generally settle into video sessions very quickly and comfortably and it does not detract at all from the benefits of their therapy sessions.

Things to think about ……

Try to find a quiet, private and comfortable space for our call so that you can feel at ease talking with me.  Let others know that you do not wish to be disturbed for this time.

Using a laptop or desktop computer with a larger screen, rather than a phone, will help things to feel more natural and comfortable and will put less strain on your eyes and posture.

If possible, arranging your schedule so that you have a little free time to yourself immediately before and after your session could also be helpful.  A break before you session will allow you to gather your thoughts and some sessions may require that you specifically take time afterwards to take notes or reflect, so try to factor that in.
