Therapy Reduces or Stops the Behaviour

Not every addictive behaviour can be stopped completely.  For example, we can’t stop eating and its not generally realistic to completely stop all internet use in the long term.  So, together we will look at what you are personally aiming for and we’ll work with that.

No matter how motivated you are, it might be daunting to imagine living without the addictive behaviour.  So we will start by making sure you have some different strategies and alternative ways to change how you feel – for the better.

We will then draw on behavioural and cognitive strategies to start to bring the behaviour under control.  Some of this will be very practical and may also involve working with some of your thoughts, beliefs and views.
