Psychological Therapy

Where lasting change takes root

How have I come to this point of thinking about therapy?

Maybe you have struggled on your own and tried to make changes but found that, although things work for a while, the ‘new start’ you keep promising yourself,  just doesn’t stick.

This can be a frustrating and upsetting place to be and can feel very lonely.  You mah be hiding your behaviours and masking how you feel from people around you.

These feelings can also hook into other beliefs we have about our value, competence and hopes for the future.  Overthinking, anxiety, emotional outbursts, depression or anger can then start to be increasingly regular experiences.  Of course, our addictive behaviour is also very likely to increase.

But you can find a way forward

However stuck you feel in your repeating behaviours; whatever the impact has been on your relationships, finances, work and friendships and even on your sense of who you are; however defeated you feel by previous attempts to change; you can lighten the weight of these struggles and move forward.

Psychological Therapy can help this change happen

Working collaboratively with an experienced and skilled therapist can enable you to know yourself and understand what underlies the discrepancies between what you want and what you do.  Through engaging with processes of exploring, learning, discovery and practicing you really can make change happen.

However we like to be seen, maybe as strong and independent, we cannot resolve everything for ourselves all the time.  We might believe that we ‘should be able to deal with this on our own’.  But there comes a point where our established patterns of living, relating and coping are either overwhelmed by current circumstances or are just not letting us move on to the life that we want.
